These are my main classroom policies. Please check back often, as this list may periodically experience changes or additions.
1. Pinnacle Use - Students will be required to log in to Pinnacle at least once a week to check their grades. Students MUST know their Pinnacle username and password. (Pinnacle is our online grading website).
2. Late Work and Missing Assignments - All assignments are due before the end of a unit. Additionally, I will not accept any assignments that are more than two weeks past due, even if they are prior to the end of the unit. There will be no exceptions to this rule. If you are going to be gone for an extended amount of time, please make arrangements with me PRIOR to your absence, so you may receive homework to take with you.
3. Notes - Students will be required to take notes in my classes. We are an AVID school, and note-taking and using is a proven AVID strategy to help students do well in school.
4. Tests - Students MUST have their notes with them on test days. Students will not be allowed to take a test if they do not have the notes with them. Additional class time will not be provided to take tests.
5. Extra Time - Students needing extra time to complete work may come to Teacher Access, or to my classroom during lunch. Extra time will not be provided in class.
6. Homework - All homework assignments will be written on the class white board in the classroom. Students are responsible for looking at the board and writing down/taking a picture of their homework assignment each day.
7. Tardiness - Any student that is not in their seat and ready to learn when class begins will be given an unexcused Tardy in my class.
8. Behavior - Students are expected to behave appropriately and respectfully in my classroom. Inappropriate language, rough housing, disrespect of personal or school property, etc. will result in referrals.
9. Extra Credit - I will rarely offer extra credit in my classes. Typically, I will not give students extra credit to make up their grade if they have missing work, multiple "I" grades, etc.
10. Cell phones, Headphones, and other Devices - unless given permission, students may not use cell phones, headphones, or other personal electronic devices in my classroom. If students have not asked permission and I see these items being used, I will confiscate them until the end of the class period or school day.
11. Food in the Classroom - Unless given permission (very rare) there will be NO food or drinks allowed in my classroom.
